It will be summer in Oregon, so pack cool casual clothes. Mornings and evenings can get a bit chilly so we recommend bringing a sweatshirt or a jacket. There are hot tubs on the property as well as a river so feel free to bring a bathing suit and shoes you can wear in the water. For our wedding day, please wear clothing in the requested color palette (see invitation insert). Dress code is summer casual. Please choose smart shoes as there will be some walking involved with our ceremony location (which will be outdoors). High heels are not recommended.
June is typically a dry month in Oregon. Highs will be in the upper 70s. Lows will be in the low 50s. Of course, we can’t predict the weather so we recommend checking the forecast as it gets closer so you can pack accordingly.
We have rented 4 houses on the Sandy River. You will have a private room in the house and house/room assignments will be given upon arrival!
The cabins are about a 1 hour drive from the Portland Airport. Due to the remote location we recommend renting a car and carpooling with others who have a similar arrival time. If you need help finding a carpool crew, please let us know!
Please arrive at the cabins no earlier than 5:30pm on Sunday 6/22.
Address: 64297 E Brightwood Loop Road, Brightwood, OR 97011.
If you arrive earlier and have some time to kill, recommended list of things to do in the area:
Yes, we love your kids! We ask that you keep a close eye on them as there is a rapid river on the property. We know kids can be feral sometimes so we kindly ask that you try to keep them from disrupting any planned activities. Leashes optional.
While we love everyone’s dogs, we ask that they stay home for this trip.
We will be providing meals for the duration of our event. If you want any special snacks or specific items on your way in, the closest stores are below:
We will be providing alcohol with our wedding dinner. If you’d like beer/wine/alcohol outside of that, please stop on the way in to stock up!
This is a retreat style event, you will receive an itinerary upon arrival. Activities include: games, relaxing, exploring the local area, bonfires and outdoor time. There is also a river to fish in and some beautiful nature trails nearby.
We will be staying at a smoke-free property so we ask that you please do not smoke. If you can't survive without smoking, you can drive off-property to smoke.
Oregon is a green state, so if you'd like to purchase edibles or other items the closest dispensaries are below. Please note these establishments are cash only so plan accordingly (the first one has an ATM)
Our first anniversary was spent in Oregon on a whim. We fell in love with the diversity of the state from the rocky coast to the trees and mountains of the Mount Hood area. We stayed on the Sandy River and made some of our best memories with Remi there. In a twist of fate, these cabins were recently built and finished, just across the river from where we spent our first anniversary. It felt like a sign that this was the perfect place to host our wedding.
